Software Engineer & Systems Architect
Building from bare metal to browser — compilers, operating systems, dev tools, and everything in between.
I'm Kyle R. Augustine — a full-stack software engineer and systems architect who thrives at the intersection of low-level systems programming and modern developer tooling.
I designed and built Lateralus, a programming language with its own compiler, virtual machine, type system, package manager, VS Code extension, and a bare-metal operating system — all from scratch. My work spans the entire stack: from hand-written x86 assembly and freestanding C kernels to Python frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, and interactive web playgrounds.
I believe in building in public, writing clean code that teaches, and creating tools that empower developers. Every project I ship is designed to be understandable, extensible, and well-documented.
The full toolkit I use to build from silicon to screen.
Validated expertise across security, cloud, networking, and systems.
From language design to operating systems — things I've built end-to-end.
